Los Angeles, CA – After much anticipation, the long awaited debut of the Aly & AJ video game guitar controllers is set for October 11.  The pop teen sensations partnered with Performance Designed Products (PDP) to launch a line of video game accessories geared for female gaming enthusiasts. 

The Girl Guitars will launch during a PDP-sponsored event featuring Aly & AJ at the GameStop at Universal City Walk.  The sisters will be on hand to judge the top three finalists in a Rock Band Battle of the Girl Bands competition, and then play Rock Band with the winning team on stage.  Afterwards, Aly & AJ will be at GameStop as their line of Girl Guitars go on sale for the first time.  The first guitars sold will be autographed by the sisters.

Aly’s guitar features a heart-and-crossbones print in pink and brown, and AJ’s guitar is in the shape of the Aly & AJ heart logo featuring bright pink and purple zebra print.  The guitar controllers can be used with the Wii and PS2 and are compatible with Rock Band and Guitar Hero.  Since being introduced into the gaming market, music games have grown in popularity with females who now make up nearly half of the current players.

PUBLIC EVENT SCHEDULE:

4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Kiosks open for players to qualify to perform on stage.

6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Qualifying teams will be announced and will perform Rock Band onstage with the Girl Guitars.

8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Three finalists will be selected and will perform for Aly and AJ.  The sisters will select the winning team to play Rock Band onstage with them.

9:00 p.m.  - GameStop store begins selling first guitars.
